My name is Jonas Gejl Kaas, and I am an Associate Professor at the Institute for Strategy and War Studies at the Royal Danish Defence College (RDDC). Before joining the RDDC, I was an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University’s Department of Political Science.

My teaching, research, and government services are focused on Russian and European defense and security. Moreover, I have a keen interest in methodologies and methods (e.g., Strategic Foresight).

My research has been published in Danish and international outlets such as European Foreign Affairs Review, Cooperation and Conflict, Sociological Methods & Research, International Studies Review, European Politics and Society, University Press of Southern Denmark, DJØF Forlag, and Økonomi og Politik. Moreover, I have published a number of policy papers and reports at the Danish Institute for International Studies.

Public Talks
 

I believe scholars have a responsibility to make their research accessible to audiences beyond academia.

Since beginning my doctoral studies in 2015, I have given numerous public talks on Russian and European foreign, security, and defence policy to a wide range of audiences, including private companies, voluntary associations, high schools, folk high schools, and Folkeuniversitetet (the Danish People's University).
